Despite all of my attempts I cannot tell the date, nor even the month, by standing at Stonehenge. And you know, it doesn’t matter. We have developed better calendar displays.

But you are, of course, right. Legacy technology is interesting in history classes. But for those who want kids to learn analog clocks — I first want proof that they are adept at Morsecode, excellent at cutting quills, and can find the date from a picture of Stonehenge. If not they can shut up.
