This week in the Albemarle County Public Schools.

Choices and collaboration and expertise celebrated.

Choice and Comfort are touchstones.

Math need not involve worksheets.

Do not suggest how evidence of learning be presented.

Expect more — elementary tech desk team learns to replace laptop keyboards

Let kids group themselves and find their spots.

Theater and engineering bring disparate student groups together.

Connect to the world — 3–5 multiage kids chat Earth Day with Irish counterparts

Stop telling kids where to sit, what to read, what to write. Enable them instead.

Bring them objects of wonder.

Or let them find objects of wonder.

Get wet. Get dirty.

Sports and engineering and math and tool skills… stop separating curriculum

How do you explain algebra?

Trust in the wonder of childhood. Yes. Do that.
