I know I sounded harsh but when you say, “No matter how innovative their ideas, if they aren’t presented in a compelling way, nobody will care,” and then present one way, it creates an aura of superiority around that way, and reinforces a horrible world of practice.

“His stories go in circles,” I’m often told, explaining why a Latino who writes brilliantly is forced into non-credit remedial English by his Community College. “She couldn’t get straight to the point,” when she doesn’t get hired.

So I wish you wouldn’t even accidentally give a Stanford imprimatur to those beliefs.
